Ballard Locks
March 22nd ended up being a nice day, so we took a ride over to the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Ballard to see some slow-rising-water action and possibly a salmon or two swimming up the fish ladder. While we did manage to catch the locks in action, the fish ladder was devoid of life. The informational chart said one of the salmon species should be running, but they must have been on break when we were there.

There is a nice botanical garden next to the locks, so we soaked up some sunshine and enjoyed the plants and trees that were in bloom.
