


It might look like a trick of perspective, but those blooms are actually almost as large as Becky's head!

While impressive, we were still looking for the vast fields of tulips that had been promised to us by coworkers and websites alike. After consulting another map, we headed towards some of the fields that were marked as in bloom and discovered what we were looking for, along with the hordes of people we were not. Thankfully these fields are huge, and with a little walking you can escape off from the crowds.

We could have wandered around those fields all day, but we decided to move on and check out the nearby town of La Conner and grab a bite to eat. La Conner was packed, and it felt like a coastal town in Maine, except for the fact that they were having a protest boat parade:
